Joyce Perricone, 94 of Hamden died April 29, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born in New Haven on January 11, 1929, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Carangelo DelGrego, and worked at SNET prior to raising her family.The kitchen was the center of her world.  Joyce loved to prepare meals there for her family, but more importantly, she loved to bake. Her home was always warmed with the scents of seasonal cakes, pies, and breads baking away in the oven.  Her homemade pizza was the best! She was the "Queen" of cookie baking for holiday and family gatherings. Joyce is predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years, Vincent Perricone. a brother Anthony (Phyllis) DelGrego, and a twin sister, June Barbuto. She is survived by a daughter Deborah (Jerry) Meshell of Orange, and a grandson, Brian Meshell of Brookline, MA, whom she loved dearly and was extremely proud of.  Calling hours will be held THURSDAY from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. There will be a prayer service at 11:30 a.m. at the same location. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
