Joshua Matthew Gharis (1987 to 2025) of West Haven, CT

Loving father of Amelia Gharis, Sophia Torrens and step-father to Isabella Torrens. Devoted husband of Heather Boyle (deceased 2024), and beloved son of Lynn Peel (deceased 2017) and Matthew Gharis, and step-son to Michael Cadden. Josh is also survived by his siblings Aimee Gharis, James Cadden, Margaret Cadden, and Cynthia Cuoghi (Gharis) who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. In his high school days, Josh's rhythm and creativity came alive in the marching band and behind the drums as a jazz musician — a passion that reflected his lifelong love of art and expression. As a professional photographer and founder of J Gharis Face Photos, Josh helped countless people present their best selves to the world. He often said: "I simply loved helping people with headshot photos. In this social media era, there is almost nothing more important." Josh brought warmth, humor, and authenticity to everything he did. His love for family and friends, his artistic eye, and his generous spirit touched everyone who knew him. We honor you, Josh — your laughter, your creativity, and the light you brought into our lives. You will be deeply missed and forever loved. Calling hours / Celebration of Life will be held Friday October 10th from 12 - 2 pm in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden.
