Joseph A. Lettiero, 85, of 35 Hamden Hills Dr. died Sept. 30, 2015, at his home, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Elena DiLeone Lettiero. Joe was born in New Haven, Nov. 4, 1929, son of the late Francis and Theresa D'Elessio Lettiero and was a lifelong resident of Hamden, Starting as an employee in 1943 at The Advance Paper Co., he bought the business in 1964, operating it up to his illness. He was a member of the Mary Magdeline Society and enjoyed playing cards. Beside his wife, he is survived by his loving children Teresa Keiser(Dennis) of Prospect, Nanci Lettiero of Guilford and Francis(Rosemary) Lettiero of Hamden, his devoted grandchildren, Michelle, Joseph, Michael, Jennifer, Christopher, Elena and Matthew and 8 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his siblings, Anna Camera, Lucy Lettiero, Concetta Ruggiero, Carmelina, Vincent, John, Louis, Anthony, Alfred and Frederick Lettiero. Funeral Monday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 6 P.M.
