Joseph Leggiero, 99, formerly of Patterson Rd., Hamden, died April 6, 2010,at the Hamden Health Care Center after a long illness. He was the husband, for 61 years,of the late Yolanda Muzzi Leggiero. Joe was born in Hamden, June 20, 1910, the son of the late Gaetano and Maria Carpentino Leggiero and was a life long resident of Hamden. He was employed at the Hamden Public Works Dept. for 37 years, retiring in 1974 as a supervisor. He is survived by a sister in law, Emma Leggiero of Hamden and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Rose Ciccone and brothers John and George Leggiero. Friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Friday morning for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.There are no calling hours.The Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral in charge of arrangements.
