Joseph F. Giangrande, 91, o 286 W. Shepard Ave., form. of 61 Pine St. Hamden, died Oct. 26, 2010. He was the widow of Ethel Marie Johnson Giangrande. Joe was born in New Haven, Dec. 18, 1918, the son of the late Vincenzo (James) and Vincenzina DiLeva Giangrande and was employed at the Henry Thompson Co. for 44 years retiring 35 years ago. He enjoyed fishing and being with his family. He had been a resident of Whitney Manor for the last 4 months. He is survived by daughters, Mrs. James (Sandra) Miller and Mrs. Darin (Amy) Lee, and a son, Joseph (Mary) Giangrande, Jr., all of Hamden, sisters, Jean and Raphael Giangrande, both of New Haven, grandchildren, James Miller Jr., William Miller, Mark Miller, Amber Lee, Joseph, Amanda, Fred and Alyssa Giangrande. He was pre-deceased by siblings Theresa Giangrande, Margaret Tommaselli, Louis, Anthony, Salvatore and Charles Giangrande. Funeral Saturday at 9:15 from the Peter H.Torello & Son Funeral Home, l022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, and at St. Ann's Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
