John Nicholas Reilly, 61, of Hamden passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Yale New Haven Hospital.  Born in New Haven on April 26, 1963, he was the loving son of Barbara DeMaio Reilly and the late Richard "Pudge" Reilly. John graduated Hamden High School in 1981 and began to master his craft under the guidance of his godfather, Duke Pesticci.  John was an extremely talented mason working under BAC Local 1 Connecticut.  He was a classic car enthusiast and restored many old cars and trucks through the years.  He loved Harley's and was an avid Mets fan. John is survived by his son John N. Reilly, Jr of Tennessee, Mother, Barbara Reilly of Hamden; brother, Scott (Michelle) Reilly of Wallingford and Sister Robin Reilly of Hamden; his nephews Zachary Reilly, and Justin Reilly and Nieces Emma Reilly and Kaysie Reilly. He is preceded in death by his Father Richard S. Reilly Sr. and Brother Richard S. Reilly Jr. Calling hours will be held Friday from 9:30 - 10:30 am in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden followed by a Christian parlor service at 10:30 in the same location. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
