John Consiglio, 98, of Hamden, died at Conn Hospice after a brief illness. He was the husband of Bertha Colonese Consiglio. John was born in New Haven, April 27, 1919, the son of the late Gennaro and Maria Antoinette Bosco Consiglio and was an Army veteran of WWII. He joined the Post Office after the war and retired after 30 years of service. He enjoyed gardening in his yard. Beside his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Barbara Consiglio of Hamden and a brother, Michael "Mitch" Consiglio of East Haven. He was pre-deceased by a son, John R. Consiglio and siblings, Ralph, Anthony and Bridget Consiglio. Funeral Thursday at 10:30 from the Peter H. Torello  Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Christ, Bread of Life Church (Blessed Sacrament) at 11 0'clock. Interment private. Friends may call Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30.  Memorial contributions may be made to Conn. Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, Ct.
