Joane Baker Kinney, aged 79, of Wallingford passed away on January 15, 2026. Joane leaves her beloved son, Gary and his wife Michele of St. Petersburg, Florida. She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Amelia Giordano Baker. Joane lived in Wallingford for most of her life. She spent a few years in St. Petersburg before returning to her hometown of Wallingford. Joane worked at the Wallingford Police Department for many years. She was known for her warmth, kindness, wisdom and incredible laugh. In her younger years she was an integral part of cherished family gatherings. Joane was an avid walker and could be seen on a daily basis walking several miles no matter what the weather was. In addition to her son, she leaves several favorite cousins and her many friends at Silver Pond. Calling hours will be held Friday morning from 9 - 10:30 am in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave. Hamden followed by a memorial at 10:30 in the same location. Burial will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
