Jean Carroll DeMarsilis,88, of Hamden, died Monday, March 2, 2015 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Constanzo "Bill" DeMarsilis. Jean was born in Hartford, July 21, 1926, the daughter of the late Calvin W. and Mae Urbansky Carroll and was retired from Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and was active in her community, volunteering and serving on many boards and committees. Jean was very proud to have been the first female president, in the country, of a youth hockey association when she was elected president of Hamden Youth Hockey. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Joseph, Janet, Calvin, Mary Melillo, all of Hamden and John (Sallie) of North Haven, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a son, Dominic DeMarsilis and a grandson, Brian Lindsay. Friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Thursday morning for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30, followed by interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Our Lady of Mt.
