James A. Senior, 65 of West Haven died October 27th at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. James is survived by his wife Velma (Denise), son and daughter Jas and Kahlia Senior of Arizona, grandchildren Amara Senior, Chase and Brylliance Campbell, stepchildren Denisha and Dean Howard, sister Pamela (Pam) Senior McClary of Louisiana, brother Michael Senior of New Haven, step-sister and brother Lynn Wylie and Mark Wylie, both of New Haven, aunt Agnes Session and uncle nephew Kyle E. L. Williams of Rock Hill, SC   Uncle Robert (Butch) Daniels, sister-in-law Betty Staton and Wanda (Thomas) Daniels, and a large extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Joyce Christine Senior Daniels, father James Arthur Senior, grandparents John and Ludelia Daniels, uncle Melvin Daniels, honorable Mayor John Daniels, and stepson Michael Edwards. James had a passion for fashion and had a unique sense of style. He enjoyed styling and took pride in dressing up for special occasions. His bold choices and fearless combination of colors and patterns made him stand out in a crowd. Aside from fashion, James also had a love for pool and chess, often spending his free time playing and perfecting his skills. He was also a devoted family man, loving husband to his wife Denise, cherishing his children and grandchildren. His brother Michael was not only his best friend, but also his partner in all aspects of life. They were inseparable and always seen together. Visitation will be held Wednesday October 30th from 10 - 11 am in the Trinity Temple Church of God, 285 Dixwell Ave., New Haven, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
