Jaime Jill DeClement – 38, of Meriden, CT passed away on July 8 th 2016 after a long illness. Born August 4, 1977, she was the dedicated and beloved daughter of Raymond and Paula DeClement of North Haven. She is also survived by brothers Raymond DeClement, Paul (Andrea) DeClement, and sister Stephanie (Derik) Manuel. Jaime was the very proud aunt of Caitlyn DeClement, Andrew DeClement, Christopher DeClement, Carina DeClement and her "bugs" Jayden Manuel and Owen Manuel. In addition Jaime had several aunts and cousins that she loved dearly. Jaime grew up in North Haven where she graduated from North Haven High School in 1995 and then went on to attend Tulane University in Louisiana where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Micro- Biology in 1999. Jaime lived in Maryland for five years before moving back to CT in 2010 and most recently was a Data Team Lead for Quintiles Inc. where she dedicated herself to managing FDA clinical drug trials and data management. Jaime founded the support group for young adults at the Smilow Cancer Center at Yale called "IMPACT" and was the CT state leader for YSC (Young Survival Coalition for Young Women with Breast Cancer). Jaime was dedicated to educating herself and others on how to live with and give your mind, body, and spirit all the tools needed to fight breast cancer. Jaime loved to cook and feed friends and family, was a member of the Gypsy Rugby league, enjoyed powerlifting competitions, was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, enjoyed sports and exercise as well as riding 60 miles in the Closer to Free bike ride in 2014. She found her most enjoyment spending time with her family and friends and being a truly amazing aunt. The family would like to send a very heartfelt thank you to everyone at Smilow Cancer Center at Yale and also to the staff at the Masonic home Hospice and Acute care in Wallingford. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family . In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Closer to Free Fund, which jointly supports Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven and Yale Cancer Center.
