Helen E. Pender, 88, of the Mary Wade Home, died there Aug. 2, 2010, after a brief illness. Helen was born in New Haven, Jan. 6, 1922, the daughter of the late Henry and Mary McGrath Pender and was a LPN for many years in several health care facilities. She was a resident in Bella Vista for 25 years where she served as a Eucaristic Minister at the Masses said there by St. Francis Church, a senior companion and active in the 399 Club. Many thanks to the staff at Mary Wade for their wonderful and loving care they provided to her. She is survived by dear friends, Carol Breda, Kristin, Alyssa & Timothy Breda, all of Hamden. Funeral Wednesday at 10:30 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, l022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at St. Ann's Church at 11 o'clock. Friends may call Wednesday morning from 9 to 10:30. A.M. Interment in All Saints Cemetery.
