Helen G. Taddeo Letis, 92, of Mix Ave., Hamden, died June 27, 2014 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late James A. Letis. Helen was born in New Haven, July 22, 1921, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary DeRose Taddeo and had resided in Woodbridge for 35 years, prior to moving to Hamden 15 years ago. She was a former golfing member of the Woodbridge Country Club, volunteered her cooking skills at Mt. Sacred Heart, and was a fantastic baker. She enjoyed the beach and the casino. In her latter years, she knitted blankets and shawls for cancer patients at Yale New Haven Hospital. She is surived by her children, Mrs. George (Valerie) Funaro of Madison, Joyce DeRosa of Northford, James (JulieAnn) Letis of Woodbridge and Ronald Letis of Hamden, grandchildren, James, Erica, Michael, Danielle, Mario, Priscilla, Jimmie and Alyssa, and a great-grandson Dominic, a sister, Mrs. Nicholas (MaryJane) Scasino of North Haven and sister in law, Cory Taddeo of Milford. She was pre-deceased by a brother and several sisters. Friends are invited to go directly to St. Ann's Church on Tuesday for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 o'clock. Interment private.
