Hannah "Honey" Scher, 80, of Dallas, Texas (formerly of Hamden, CT and The Villages, FL), passed away on August 7, 2023, at Evergreen Assisted Living after a long illness. Born on January 1, 1943, in New Haven, CT, Hannah was the daughter of the late Edward & Lillian Wacks.

After graduating from college, Hannah spent the early years of her career working as a nurse in New York. She eventually moved to Hamden, CT, where she applied her medical knowledge and experience to become a claims specialist working for Blue Cross Blue Shield until she retired. She spent her retirement years enjoying the sunshine of The Villages, Florida. Hannah stayed involved with her local community and enjoyed joining her neighbors on group outings to the nearby casinos and restaurants.

Hannah was the loving mother to Jonathan Scher (Angie) of Hamden, CT; Steven Scher of Richardson, Texas; and Matthew Scher (Kathleen Kenealy) of Woburn, MA. She was also the loving grandmother to Carina Scher. Hannah was predeceased by her brothers, Michael and Jerry, and her sisters, Sarah, Beverly, and Judy.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 11 am in Beaverdale Memorial Park (90 Pine Rock Ave., New Haven, CT).
