Gregory S. Palmieri, 47, of 40 Carbonella Dr., Hamden, died Oct. 1, 2013 at St. Raphael Campus after a brief illness. Greg was born in New Haven, Nov. 19, 1965 the son of Peter and Patricia Nizen Palmieri of Hamden and graduated Hamden High, Milford Acad. and SCSU and was a letter carrier for the US Post Office for 20 years. He then opened Tidewater II Bait & Tackle Shop in Westbrook. He enjoyed fishing, playing the drums and Cape Cod and was the devoted father to Benjamin and Olivia Palmieri of Cheshire, brother of Tricia Palmieri Lee (Joseph) of Wallingford, Rachelle Palmieri Mathews (Ron) of Hamden, Michael (Linda) Palmieri of North Haven and Peter (Debbie) Palmieri Jr., of Old Saybrook, uncle of Rachelle, Ryan, Audrey, Madelyn, Josie and god-father to Gwen, great uncle to Arianna. He as pre-deceased by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Michael Palmieri and Mr. & Mrs. Peter Nizen. Friends are invited to go directly to the Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Center Rd., Woodbridge, Saturday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden.
