Giovanni LaPenna, 87, of Long Hill Ter., New Haven died June 30, 2016 at St. Raphael Campus after a long illness. He was the husband of Josephine DeFazio LaPenna. Giovanni was born in Avezzano, Prov. of Rome, Italy, July 13, 1928, and came to the US in 1960. He was a  tailor for J. Press, Clothier, for over thirty years. He was also an Army Veteran. Beside his wife, he is survived by sisters, Maria and Clara LaPenna. both in Italy and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Saturday at 11 o'clock from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Litchfield Turnpike, Woodbridge at 11:30. Entombment at a later date in Italy.
