Giovanna Conte DiCrosta, 76, of 28 Parkview Rd., Hamden, died Jan. 13, 2011. She was the wife of 49 years of Paolo "Paul" DiCrosta. Giovanna was born in Cerretto Sannita, Prov. of Benevento, Italy, June 21, 1934, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Adriana Ciarlo Conte and came to this country in 1962, residing in Hamden most of her life. An avid gardener, she enjoyed growing tomatoes in her garden and loved to cook for her family. Beside her husband, she is survived by sons, Antonio (Doreen)DiCrosta of Hamden and Pasquale DiCrosta of Shelton, three grandchildren, Eric,Kristen "Krissy"& Allison "Allie" DiCrosta, and siblings, Assunta Conte, Milan, Italy, Liberato Conte of Montreal, Canada and Nicole Conte of Rome, Italy. Her funeral will be Tuesday, at 9:15, from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
