Obituary

Gerrilynne Biondi, 73 of Hamden, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, after a courageous six-year battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded by her loving daughter, Adriana Betancourt, and Ozzie Biondi, her husband of many years and life long friend. Daughter of the late Germain and Josephine Orteneau, Gerrilynne had a successful career as a real estate paralegal, working with several law firms before starting her own freelance business. In her spare time, Gerrilynne found joy in crocheting, creating countless blankets, scarves, and hats for her family. She took great care in selecting the perfect colors and patterns for each person, making each item uniquely special. She was also an avid animal lover, having had many dogs throughout her life, all of whom held a special place in her heart. As she neared the end of her journey, Gerrilynne found comfort in knowing she would soon be reunited with the pets she had lost over the years at the rainbow bridge. Above all, Gerrilynne's greatest joy in life was her beloved grandchildren, Josephine (7) and Nicholas (4). They were the light of her life, and she shared a deep, special bond with them. Jojo and Nicky cherished their visits to Nana's house, where they spent countless happy moments together. Gerrilynne's love for her grandchildren was immeasurable, and they will miss her dearly. Gerrilynne is survived by her daughter, Adriana (Julian) Betancourt, her friend of many years, Ozzie Biondi, her sister Suzanne Dolan, brother-in-law John Dolan, great-aunt Rita Severino, and her nieces Kara (Sean) Rabinowitz, Maura Dolan (Kyle Sarrazin), and nephews Matt (Sarah) Dolan and Jack (Jenna) Dolan, along with eight great-nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her two cherished dogs, Simon and Teddy. Gerrilynne will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass Tuesday March 18th at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter (  www.branford-ct.gov/departments/animal-shelter/donation  )
