George P. Roman, 82, of 64 Whiting St., Hamden, died June 18, 2011 in St. Raphael's Hospital. He was the husband of Doris Civitello Roman. George was born in Hazelton, PA, Nov. 14, 1928, the son of the late Paul and Anna Geffert Roman and had resided in Hamden the last 38 years. He was employed at Mark Medical Supply for 40 years prior to retiring 17 years ago. He enjoyed, gardening, the NY Giants, reading, UConn basketball and especially his loving grandchildren. Beside his wife, he is survived by daughters, Mrs. Michael (Elaine) LaBanca and Mrs. Michael (Elizabeth) Dezerga, all of Wallingford, sons, Edward Leonard of Chicago and Paul (Frannie) Leonard of Shelton, a brother Joseph Roman of FL and grandchildren, Edward, Cosette, Giancarlo, Kyle, Courtney and Madeline Leonardo, Caitlyn and Brianna Dezerga and Genaro and Gianna LaBanca. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Paul Roman. Funeral Wednesday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, l022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at St. Ann's Church at 10 o'clock.
