Gaetano John Ferraro, 82, of Hamden, died Jan. 2, 2016 at Hamden Health Care Center after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Genevieve Cantafio Ferraro. John was born in New Haven, March 31, 1933, son of the late John Ferraro and Florence Prota  and resided in Hamden most of his life. He was the owner and proprietor of Johnnie's Garage for over 50 years, retiring in 2008. He was an Army Veteran  of the Korean Conflict and enjoyed maintaining his properties, especially working outside. He is survived by a son, John(Donna)Ferraro and a daughter, Annmarie(Charles) Masella, both of Hamden, grandchildren, Jennifer(Anthony) Ceniccola, John Ferraro, Jeffrey Masella and Nicholas Masella and great granchildren, Dylan Masella-Carder, AJ Ceniccola and Olivia Ceniccola.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Interment with full military honors, in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 PM. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.Org
