Gaetano DiDomenico, 89, of Dixwell Ave., Hamden, died Jan. 17, 2014 at his home after a brief illness. He is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa Izzo DiDomenico. Gaetano was born in Ponte Latone, Italy, Sept. 21, 1924, the son of the late Pietro and Angela Funaro DiDomenico and had resided in Hamden since 1953.He was a machinist at Cummings Steel for 40 years prior to retirement. He also is survived by his children, Peter DiDomenico of Fairfield, Angie(Gail Testa) DiDomenico of Wallingford, Mrs. Adam (Emily) Houghton of IND., and Mrs Frank (Anna) DiGristina of Cheshire, a sister Margharitte Carusone of Italy, a brother, Giusppe DiDomenico, of Hamden grandchildren, Miranda & Isabel Cuddy, Teresa "Tess", Adam, Belle, Lily,Grace,& Peter DiDomenico and Alessandro "Alex" Houghton. He was pre-deceased by brothers, Anthony, Domenico and Giovanni DiDomenico. Funeral Monday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at St. Ann's Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in All Saints Mausoleum. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 P.M.
