Frederick A. Sargolini II, 77, of Millis St., Hamden, died at Yale New Haven Hospital, March 1, 2016. He was the devoted husband of Phyllis Bredickas Sargolini.

Fred was born in New Haven, July 13, 1938, the son of the late Carl and Angela Ciardiello Sargolini, residing in Hamden all his life. He attended Duke Univ,.Univ. of Rome and graduated from Fairfield Univ.. He taught General Science at the East Haven Middle and High Schools from 1974 to his retirement in 1995. An avid Jet, NotreDame and Met fan, he enjoyed organic gardening, history of past presidents and especially his grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Linda (John) Kozak of Killingworth and Frederick (Ann) Sargolini of Ossining, NY grandchildren, Christina, Becky and John Kozak and Margo Sargolini, and a sister in law, Patricia Sargolini of Hamden. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Raymond Sargolini.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 noon in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Interment in Hamden Plains Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service.
