IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Francis "Frank"
Rubertone
December 12, 1928 – December 15, 2020
Francis A. Rubertone passed away on December 15, 2020 after more than three weeks battling COVID – 19. Frank was a lifelong resident of Hamden, a town he loved, until this past February when he moved with his wife to North Haven. He was known for his friendly, sociable personality and the careful attention he paid to everything he did. He met his wife Eva in 1956 and they welcomed three children, Heidi Rubertone (Joe Dapkin), Linda Currie (Lucien Zeffiro) and the late Karl Rubertone. Frank worked for the family trucking business Eastern Lines as a young man and driving was one of the things he loved doing. He became a custodian for the Town of Hamden in 1968, starting at Hamden High, and made many friends in the numerous elementary schools he kept as spotless as his own home and beautiful yard. After retiring, he returned to driving, for Hy's Limo, choosing to take funeral jobs and always lending a compassionate ear to grieving families. He continued to drive daily, after 10 years at Hy's, to play pool at the Hamden Senior Center and have his coffee at Dunkin Donuts. In addition to his wife and daughters, he is loved and missed by his grandchildren, who share his love of animals and the New York Yankees, Amanda Roberts, (Nathan), Tricia Currie, Thomas Zeffiro, Lily Zeffiro and a great-grandson Franco Roberts. He also leaves many dear nieces, nephews and neighbors. He became close to his new family at The Landing of North Haven who cared so well for him during this difficult time when visits were limited. He is preceded in death by his parents Angelo and Maria Rubertone, brother Giuseppe (Pipi) Rubertone, sisters Theresa Drago and Rose Mongillo and his beloved son Karl. Due to the current pandemic, friends are invited to go directly to St. Mary's cemetery, TUESDAY at 10:30 A.M. for a graveside service. You can visit Frank's guestbook at www.torellofh.com
