Francis "Nukie" Nuclo, 103, of Knob Hill Rd., Hamden, died Jan. 11, 2014 at home surrounded by his devoted family. He was the husband of the late Antoinette Esposito Nuclo. Nukie was born in New Haven, Nov. 9, 1910, the son of the late Salvatore and Christina Longobardi Nuclo and resided in Hamden most of his life. He was an upholsterer for the former Hamden Upholstering for 35 years. He was a member of the Miller Senior Center and enjoyed fishing, playing pool, going to the casino and was an avid John Wayne fan. His greatest joy was being with his family. He is survived by his loving daughters, Eleanor "Ellie" Cavallaro and Esther ( Vincent) DeAngelis, both of Hamden, grandchildren, Pat ( Fran) Cavallaro Jr., Stevin (Jennifer) DeAngelis, Debbie (Joey) Flonc, Michael (Jennifer) Cavallaro and Michele (Pete) McLaughlin, and 8 great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his son in law, Pat Cavallaro Sr. and siblings, Mary Polidoro, Adeline Romano, Nellie DeNuzzo, Ann Mastracchio, Charles, Edward and John Nuclo. Funeral Wednesday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in All Saints Cemetery.
