Frances Riggione Burleigh, 70, of New Haven, died Oct. 24, 2016 at Conn Hospice after a long illness. She was the widow of Edward N. Burleigh Jr.
Frances was born in New Haven, Nov. 16, 1945, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Margaret Baldino Riggione and resided in New Haven all her life. She was a secretary for Yale-New Haven Hospital for 24 years prior to retirement. She enjoyed family and friends, holiday cooking and baking and Sunday gatherings. The family would like to thank the staff at Smilow, Montowese Rehab and Hospice for their loving care and concern. Frances is survived by her children, Kristen Masucci of North Haven, Edward N. Burleigh III, Michael D. Burleigh and Brian C. Burleigh, all of New Haven, sisters, Sallyanne (Albert) Hilger of North Haven and Heather (Isaac) Lopez of Naugatuck and grandchildren, Ali and Joseph Masucci. She was loved by several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Douglas Riggione. Funeral Thursday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at St. Aedan's Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M.
