Frances DeNicola Bruno, 104, of Worth Ave., Hamden, died Oct. 30, 2104, at The Regency House, Wallingford, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Americo "Mim" Bruno. Frances was born in New Haven, Nov. 24, 1910, the daughter of the late Angelo and Raffaela Calandrella DeNicola and resided in Hamden all her life. She was a beautician for many years and then worked for the Henry Richards Co., prior to retiring. A longtime communicant of St. Ann's Church, she was active in the Hamden Republican Party. She is survived by her children, Mrs. Daniel (Frances) Nista and David P. Bruno, both of Hamden, grandchildren, Janice Nista of Norwalk and Nadine Bruno of Ontario, CAN., three great grandchildren, Jake, Kurt and Kyle, all of Canada and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by all of her siblings, former Mayor John De Nicola Sr., Anna Saverino, Antoinette Lucibella, Lillian Velardi and Marie DeNicola. Funeral Monday at 10:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave. Hamden and at St. Ann's Church at 11 o'clock. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Friends may call Monday morning from 9 to 10:15.
