Eugene Papa, a lifelong resident of Hamden, died Oct. 22, 2015 at Elim Park, Cheshire after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Jennie Tortora Papa. He was born in New Haven, May 19, 1920, the son of the late Stephen and Bridget Papa and was an electrician all his life, a member of IBEW, local 90, a Navy Veteran of WWII, enjoyed playing the harmonica and sang in barber shop quartet. He was an avid Yankee Fan. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and caregivers at Elim Park. He is survived by a son, Kenneth (Nancy) Papa of Hamden, grandchildren, Kenneth, Jonathan, Lisa and Sara and 4 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Richard Papa. Services were privately held.
