Elizabeth "Betty" Harvey Dwyer, 59, of 146 Leonard Dr., Hamden, died Nov. 30, 2011 at her home aftera long illness. She was the loving wife of James "Red" Dwyer. Betty was born in Newark. NJ., July 3, 1952, the daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret Matta Harvey and was a hairdresser for several beauty shops in New Jersey, prior to moving to Conn. She was a member of the Hamden Elks Emblem Club and played on its bocce team, for 10 years. She enjoyed cooking, especially for her family, and traveling, especially to Aruba, where she made many friends. She is the mother of Gina Malgieri of Milford, step mother of Dawn Dwyer and Mrs. Salvatore (Kelly) D'Angelo, both of Hamden, Anthony (Rosemary) Carbone of Cheshire and Robert( Edith) Carbone of North Haven, sister of Mrs. Paul (Margaret "Peggy") Tharriault of NJ and Samuel and Ronald Harvey, both of FL., 10 grandchildren and a dear best friend, Liz DeFusco of Hamden. Friends may call SATURDAY, from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. The will be a prayer service at 7 P.M.. Saturday by Fr. Thomas O'Rourke.
