Eleanor R. Creedon Sawicki, 92, formerly of 125 Putnam Ave., Hamden, died Jan. 24, 2012 at Whitney Manor after a long illness. She was the widow of Henry G. Sawicki. Eleanor was born in Charleston, MA. July 9, 1919, the daughter of the late Dennis and Nora Bagley Creedon and resided in Hamden most of her life. She was a longtime parishoneer of Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the League of Women Voters. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Berard of Houston, TX, a daughter in law, Roberta Sawicki of Hamden, grandchildren Amanda and Craig Sawicki and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son, Henry G. Sawicki and siblings, Catherine Lynch and John Creedon. Funeral Saturday at 9:45 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:30 o'clock. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10 A.M.
