Eleanor "Ellie" Lupi Marzullo,89, of Hamden, wife of the late Vincent Marzullo, passed away peacefully at her home on August 2, 2014. Ellie was born in New Haven, April 21, 1925, to the late Anthony and Lena Meyer Pantalone and was a life long Hamden resident, graduating from Hamden High School in 1943. She then went on to graduate, Magnum Cum Laude from the University of Miami of Ohio, in 1947. Ellie taught typing and shorthand at Hamden High School for 27 years, retiring as head of the Business Department. Besides her love of reading, she enjoyed traveling, skiing in Vermont and basking in the warmth of the sunshine whether in Madison, Florida or relaxing at home. She had a life full of laughter and love well spent with her family and many friends. Eleanor leaves behind her children, Elisssa Lupi (John Scalzo) of Hamden with whom she resided, Randy Lupi of West Haven, Kim Lupi (Mark Hamilton) of Wallingford, and Karen Lupi (Tim Osgood) of Cheshire, grandchildren, Peter, Robb, and Melissa Fertiguena and her great-grandchild, Max, all of Hamden. She is also survived by her two sisters, Evelyn Della Rocco and Beverly Zimmer, both of Wallingford. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 9 o'clock, in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, with the Rev. Owen Sandersen officiating, followed by interment in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 P.M.
