Eleanor "Ellie" "Mima" Cavallaro, 85 of Farmington Drive, Hamden, CT, passed away suddenly on October 13, 2025 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Ellie was born in New Haven on May 20, 1940, the eldest daughter of the late Francis "Nukie" and Antoinette Nuclo. Ellie was currently employed at Quinnipiac University where she happily worked in admissions for nearly 40 years. Ellie's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband Pasquale "Pat" Cavallaro Sr. She leaves behind her sons Pat (Francine) and Michael (Jennifer) Cavallaro. Mima also leaves to cherish her memory, her adoring granddaughters Jenna and Jessica Cavallaro. She is survived by her sister Esther (Vincent) DeAngelis and her sister-in-law Alexis (Joseph) Cavallaro, and many nieces and nephews. Mima loved spending time with her grand-pups. She was an avid fan of the Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey team and never missed a game with her best friend and partner in crime Maureen Prefontaine. She enjoyed reading books and sharing her stories with Jordan Veilleux, a dear friend of hers. One of her favorite things to do was to tag along with her granddaughters and their friends on whatever adventure they were taking on, whether it be going shopping, to a concert or seeing Dancing with the Stars Live on Tour. Ellie loved traveling and had countless fond memories from girls trips to Aruba, family trips to Misquamicut and Florida, and the most special of all, an unforgettable trip to Italy. Calling hours will be Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 3-6pm at the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home at 1022 Dixwell Ave, Hamden, CT. Friends are asked to go directly to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Monday October 20th at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Centerville Cemetery.
