Edward Esposito, 88, of 137 Blue Hills Ave., Hamden ,died May 5, 2012 at St. Raphael's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lucy Mongillo Esposito. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. Ed was born in New Haven, April 1, 1924 the son of the late Catello and Maryann Acquaviva Esposito and had resided in Hamden most of his life. He was a custodian for the New Haven Board of Education for 30 years retiring 25 years ago. Beside his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Elaine) Bontempo of Cheshire, a son Edward (Kelly) Esposito Jr., of Naugatuck, and grandchildren, Taylor and Michael Bontempo, Carolyn Esposito and Christy (Paul) Ciccarella. He was pre-deceased by siblings Tomasina DeVita, Antoinette Nuclo, Malfalda Pallatto, Edith Foley, Ester Fusco, Frank, Michael, Alfred and Joseph Esposito. Memorial services will be held Friday at 11 o'clock in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, immedialy following. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.
