Edward Timothy Kelly, 78, of New Haven, died November 18th at Silver Springs Care Center. He was born in New Haven, son of the late Ellen (Lyne) and Michael Kelly.  Edward was a house painter and a former partner in the Kelly Painting Company. He graduated from Hillhouse High School and attended Miami Dade Junior College. Edward loved Irish music and was a member of the New Haven Gaelic Club. He was a dedicated friend of Bill W.  Edward is survived by his beloved sisters, Shelia (Joseph) D'Antonio, Maureen Kelly, Ellen (Phil) Scully, and brothers, Thomas (Sandy), Vincent, and Gerald (Carolyn), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers John (Jackie) and Michael.
Calling hours will be held December 6 from 8:00 to 9:15 am in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 321 Circular Ave., Hamden. Interment will follow at St Mary's Cemetery, 3100 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Edward's family would like to thank the West Haven VA Medical Center and Silver Springs Care Center for the support and care Edward received.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SMA Foundation or St. Ann Food Pantry in Hamden.
