Edward N. Colasanto, 89, formerly of Pine Rock Ave., Hamden, died at Yale New Haven Hospital, Oct. 16, 2010. He was the widower of Marie DelGreco Colasanto. Ed was born in New Haven, Feb. 14, 1921, the son of the late Nunzio and Rose Gagliardi Colasanto and was a salesman for the Plasticrete Co. and New England Log Homes for many years, prior to retiring 25 years ago. After retiring, he returned to college and earned a BA in Liberal Studies from SCSU. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, receiving the Bronze Star. He is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Colasanto and a son, Edward Colasanto, both of Hamden and granddaughters Jamie and Marcy Colasanto. He was pre-deceased by his daughter-in-law, Catherine Colasanto. Funeral Wednesday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeal Home, l022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 P.M.
