Obituary

Dorothy Funaro Keyes, 87, of 52 Pearl Ave., Hamden, died May 12, 2010 at Masonic Health Care. She was the wife of Everett Keyes and would have celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary next month. Dorothy was born in New Haven, June 2, 1922, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Lena Silvestro Funaro and had worked as a beautician when she was young. She was a former member of the Blessed Sacrament Ladies League and an avid Yankee fan. Beside her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William (Judith) Gibson of Hamden, a son Robert (Lydia) Keyes of Winsted, a sister, Ann Joseph of Hamden and was the grandmother of Matthew, Michael, Cathrine, Susan, Carolyn and MaryEllen, great-grandmother of 8 and great-great grandmother of 4. She was pre-deceased by brothers, Richard and Robert Funaro. Funeral Monday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, l022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in Beaverdael Memorial Park. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 P.M.
