Dorothy Rose Liso Guarino, formerly of Calamus Meadow Rd. Hamden,died Oct.29, 2018 at Atria Larson Place Hamden. She was the wife of the late Frederick Guarino. Dottie was born in New Haven Jan. 29th, daughter of the late Michele and Angelina La Penna Liso and was a real estate broker since 1973, founding Century 21, Guarino Associates, with her late husband, operating until 1989. She later worked for Caldwell Bankers and Beasley Companies. She was a founding member and very active in Ascension Church activities, especially the Legion of Mary, was a member of Dunbar Civic Association and past President of Dunbar Community Club, Past President of the Mothers Club and Mothers Alumnae Club of Sacred Heart Academy. She loved being with her devoted daughters and her family, enjoyed traveling around the world and being with people. She loved all that she met and everyone loved Dottie. She is survived by her loving daughters, Pamela Brennan (James) of Guilford and Roberta Sawicki and her husband John McKenna of Hamden, grandchildren, Courtney (Evan) Pearson, Paige (Nathan) Hydinger, Amanda and Craig Sawicki and 4 great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a son in law, Henry Sawicki and siblings Sabina Palmieri and Nicholas Liso. Funeral Wednesday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at the Church of The Ascension at 10 o.clock. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM.
