Donna Lee Ravenberg passed away on March 20, 2021 at New Britain Hospital. Donna was born in Ithaca, NY, December 4, 1938 to Charles and Ethelyn (Best) Greene. She met Rolland Ravenberg while he was serving in the Air Force, stationed in Plattsburgh, NY. Donna and Rolland married June 17, 1961 and moved to Connecticut in 1966, later purchasing a home in East Windsor. There, they raised their family and became members of Calvary Baptist Church in Windsor Locks, enjoying many decades of fellowship with that congregation. One of Donna's greatest joys was teaching Sunday School at Calvary Baptist. She was also the original 'superfan,' enthusiastically cheering on her children in their athletic pursuits. In 1988, Donna fulfilled a lifelong dream of earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University. Donna was very proud of the military service of her sons. Motivated by her experience of having both sons deployed in the Desert Storm operation, she formed a local support group with other parents of deployed soldiers. Her story was followed and published by a local paper, The Journal Inquirer. Donna is survived by her husband, Rolland, her children and their spouses, Dana and Georgette Ravenberg, Nonie Ravenberg and Michael Miller, and Aaron and Loan Ravenberg, and her six grandchildren Torin, Erik, Brennen, Connor, Donovan, and Jaslynn. Donna will be interred at The State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown at 10 am on Saturday, March 27.
