Dominic Merola, 87, formerly of Morse St. Hamden, died at Yale-New Haven Hosp. after a long illness. Dom was born in Hamden, June 27, 1926, the son of the late Gaetano and Josephine DiRienzo Merola and was a salesman for A.B. Dick Co for 20 years and a Navy Veteran of WWII. He is survived by sisters, Rose Cordano of Branford and Florence Rowan of Jacksonville, FL. and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by siblings, Mary Constantinople, Antoinette Capone, Concetta Guadano, Margareta Iadorola, Angelina Votto, Nicholas and Pasqaule Merola. Funeral services Wednesday at 12 noon in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Friends may call Wednesday from 11 to 12 Noon.
