Dominic A. Damiano, 80, of 42 Grafton St., Hamden, passed to eternal peace surrounded by his family at the Hosp. of St. Raphael, June 7, 2010. Beloved uncle, he is survived by four nieces, Marcia (Robert) Gerencser, Luisa (John) Breen, Linda (Angelo) Oliva and Donna (Ronald) Morgan, 2 great-nieces, Sallyann (Tarsey) Anastos and Chelsey Morgan, and a great-great niece, Margot Anastos, 6 great nephews Stephen Gerencser, Paul (Lauren) Gerencser, Jason (Joyce) Schwartz, Neal Damiano and Jon & Jack Breen. Dominic was born in New Haven, July 23, 1929, the son of the late Peter & Luisa DiSalvatore Damiano and was pre-deceased by siblings Concetta (Salvatore) Franco, Josephine (Dino) Onofrio and Peter Damiano Jr. He is survived by a brother Ralph Damiano of West Haven and his beloved cocker spaniels, Dakota and Nicholas. Dom was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, loved gardening, rag rug making, basket weaving and will be missed by his family and friends. Thanks to the wonderful staff at St. Raphael's Hospital, SICU, for their exceptional care and kindness. Funeral Thursday at 10:30 A.M. from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at St. Stephen's Church at 11:30. Friends may call Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M.
