Obituary

Domenic A. Civitello, 96, of 165 Clintonville Rd., North Haven, formerly of Hamden, died Sept. 12, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his devoted family. He was the husband of the late Mary DeMatties Civitello. Dom was born in New Haven, Jan. 7, 1917, the son of the late Domenic and Antoinette Porto Civitello and was employed at the railroad for several years prior to working at Camco Fittings for 33 years, retiring in 1982. He was a former member of the K of C, Carmel Council 3605 and was a volunteer at Whitney Manor for over 30 years, bringing joy and aid to many patients. He was devoted to his family especially his grand and great grand children. He is survived by a son, Donald R. (Lorraine) Civitello of Milford, a daughter,Dorothy (Vincent) Seibold of Jacksonville, FL, a son in law, Charles Witteman of North Haven, 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren., He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Mary Ann Witteman and siblings, Madeline, Carmen, Silvester, John, Frank and Pasquale Civitello. Funeral Saturday at 10:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 11 o'clock. Interment in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, Saturday morning, from 8:30 to 10 o'clock. Memorial contributions may be made to Conn Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, Ct. or Camp Happiness, c/o Milford Rec Dept., 70 W. River St., Milford, Ct, 06460
