Dolores G. Melillo Blanks, 84, of 111 Worth Ave., Hamden, died May 14, 2014 at the Regency House, Wallingford. Dolores was born in New Haven, Jan. 6, 1930, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Christine Bontempo Melillo and was a hair dresser all her life, owning Dolores Beauty Studio in Hamden and in Cheshire for 40 years. A lifelong Hamden and Cheshire resident, she was a cub scout leader and enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends. She is survived by her longtime companion, Daniel Pfnausch of Hamden, sons, Matthew E. Blanks Jr. of Cheshire and Raymond P. Blanks and Wife, Patricia, of Wallingford, a sister Margaret Panzo of Hamden and her former husband, Matthew E. Blanks Sr. of Cheshire. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Josephine Lombardi and a brother, Lawrence Melillo II. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 P.M. at the White Oak Baptist Church, 20 No. Whittlesey Ave., Wallingford, followed by interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden.
