Dennise Ann DeLucia Walter, 69, lifelong Hamden resident, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 27th.  Married to Larry Walter, she was a loving wife for over 48 years.  Born in New Haven on June 14, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Joseph DeLucia and Madeline Lavorgna DeLucia.  She was the beloved mother of Melissa Walter and son-in-law (to be) Keith Kane of Hamden, and Michelle Bell (Darren) of Trumbull.  She also leaves behind her furbabies - five cats she adored and fussed over tirelessly.  She was predeceased by her dear aunt Agnes Fraulo. Affectionately known as D-Nice to her girls, she was a hairdresser for over forty years.  Her loyal clientele were like family to her and she took great pride in knowing that no one could put an old-school 'tease on' like she could.  In addition, she worked for Tommy's Tanning and other local salons, where she made many lifelong friends.  But her true love was cooking and baking for her family and friends.  From hand-painted chocolates to her perfect apple pie, her mixer was her power tool!  She delighted in filling the kitchen with immaculately decorated Christmas cookies to give away in abundance. To know her was to love her. Calling hours will be held FRIDAY December 30th from 4 - 7 P.M. in the Peter H. Torello & Son F.H., 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, CT. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation in her honor to "The Friends of the New Haven Animal Shelter", Fournier Street, New Haven.
