Daniel J. Rubertone Jr, born October 31, 1949, passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2025, at the age of 75. A devoted brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, he will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and deep love of sports. A lifelong resident of Hamden, he graduated from Hamden High School in 1968 and later earned his Bachelor's degree from Southern Connecticut State University. He was a dedicated fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and UConn basketball, rarely missing a game and always ready to share his insight and enthusiasm. He is survived by his loving sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Michael Earley of Hamden, and his cherished nephews, Justin Michael and Zachary Ryan (fiancée Caroline Berkovich) who will forever hold dear the memories of time spent together. He is also survived by many cousins who were like siblings, and lifelong friends.  He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Daniel was predeceased by his parents, Daniel J. Rubertone, Sr. and Marion Fuggi Rubertone.  He was also predeceased by his brother Robert Anthony Rubertone and by several very special aunts, uncles, and cousins. Calling Hours will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 9am-11am at the Peter H. Torello and Son Funeral Home located at 1022 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT  06514. A parlor service will be held at 11am in the same location. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery will be privately held.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Daniel's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital ( www.stjude.org ), American Lung Association ( www.lung.org ), or a charity of your choice.
