Claire V. Pilon, 75, beloved wife of the late Richard L. Pilon died on Feb. 9, 2019 at CT Hospice, Branford. She was born in Hartford, January 17,1944,  daughter of the late Edward and Dolores Vezina Valliere and was a graduate of Conard High School. She spent the majority of her working career working in executive secretarial positions at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford. On June 27, 1964 Claire married the love of her life, Richard Pilon. Together they raised their two daughters in West Hartford. She and Richard retired in 1998 and moved to Fort Myers, FL. to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather. In Florida she spent a significant amount of time volunteering at both Hope Hospice and St. John XXIII Catholic Church. Claire was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. Visiting family, attending birthday parties, graduations, recitals and sporting events were the highlights of her later years. Claire was adored by her children, grandchildren and extended family and her positive and caring nature brought a smile to everyone she encountered. Claire is survived by her daughters Denise (Michael) Burke of North Hampton, NH; Carrie (Raymond) Gambardella of North Haven, a sister, Lorraine Ferraris of Rocky Hill, CT; her 5 grandchildren, Kristin and Kelly Burke of North Hampton, NH; and Julia, Andrew and Angela Gambardella of North Haven CT;her dog, Chloe as well as many extended family members and close friends. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Richard L .Pilon and her brother-in- law, Richard Ferraris. Friends are invited to a Mass at St. Therese Church, North Haven, Friday at 11:30 AM followed by interment in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. and may also call Friday morning at the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden from 9:30 to 11 o'clock.
