Christine Gagliardi Richards, 98, of the Willows, Woodbridge, form. of Elizabeth St., New Haven, died peacefully at the Willows, after a short illness, on March 27, 2105, surrounded by her loving family and is now with God. Chris was born in New Haven, July 26, 1916, the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Mary DeMaio Gagliardi. Married to the late Ray "Pickles" Richards, she is survived by her children, MaryJane Amellin of Orlando, FL, Margaret (Richard) DeVita of Cheshire, Davis (Judy) Richards of Hamden and Robert (Pat) Richards of Cheshire her loving grandchildren, Paul(Susan) Amellin, and Jimmy Amellin of Orlando, Carla(Ron) LaPrade of Cheshire, Casey (John) Marinuzzi and Christen (Michael) Crowder of North Haven, Kimberly (Chris) DiGioia and Kary (Neal) Galeota of Hamden, Gary Richards(Joy Pendola) of Waterbury and Lesley (Andy) Ryan of Plantsville, 12 beautiful great-grandchildren, her siblings, Vincent (Susan) Gagliardi, Bernard (Gloria) Gagliardi, Philip (Filomena) Gagliardi Ralph (Genevieve) Gagliardi, a sister in law, Norma Gagliardi and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Florence Manzi (Michael) and Marge (Kippy) Kivnitsky and brothers, Michael and Anthony (Theresa) Gagliardi, a son in law, Frank (Hank) Amellin and a nephew, Michael Manzi. Christine was a deeply religious woman and was active in St. John the Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was strong in character, warm and caring with an amazing spirit of selfless giving and was loved and devoted to her large family and many, many friends. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Willows of Woodbridge for the love and care they gave to Chris over the years. Funeral Monday at 10:45 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, and at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 11:30 AM. Friends may call Monday morning from 8 to 10:45 AM. Interment in All Saints Cemetery.
