Carol Funaro, 86 of Cheshire, formerly of New Haven, died June 20th at Yale N.H.H St. Raphael campus after a brief illness. Born in New Haven December 17, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Ernest & Theresa Palmieri Funaro. Carol worked for many years as an Accounting Technician for the V.A. in West Haven. Carol enjoyed traveling, skiing, the beach, photography and gardening. She was always present for family gatherings and eager to engage in any conversation about current events. She is survived by a daughter Cathleen Waters of Buffalo N.Y, grandchildren Patrick(Erin), Elyse, Dylan and Nicholas, brothers Edmund (Janet) Funaro of Cheshire, Raymond (Gladys) Funaro of Madison and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Ernest Jr. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service Friday at 10:30 am in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Calling hours will be from 9 - 10:30 am at the same location. Burial will follow in Centerville cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
