Caroline(Carol)Buonocore Ferraro, 92, of Hamden, Ct. passed away peacefully in her home on November 20th, 2015.
Born in New Haven, daughter of the late Amelia Casanova Buonocore and Andrew Buonocore, she grew up in Fair Haven.
She attended Boardman Trade School and graduated in 1940 as a dress maker and worked at Ciardi dress shop. During WWII she worked for Berger Bros. making parachute flares. She was the wife of the late Salvatore Ferraro.
She was the beloved mother of three children; Mark Ferraro, and his wife Patrica, Richard Ferraro, and Judy Ferraro.
She was predeceased by sisters Mary Ferraiolo and Jean Lunney, and brother Dominic Buonocore. She is survived by sisters Florence Pherson, Carmel Guarino, and Rose Gallagher.
She will be dearly missed by her five grandchildren; Bethany(Andre)Ferraro Nolibos, Sean Pentland, Ryan Ferraro, Gemma Pentland and Gaetano DeLonge. She was the aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Ladies League of Blessed Sacrament Church, participated in a local book club, active in the Hamden Women's Club,
and sang in their choir.
She was an avid cook, talented in all the handcrafts, loved to travel and spend time with her friends and family, and especially enjoyed weekends at the lake. Funeral Tuesday at 9:45 from the Peter H. Torello & Son F. H., 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:30. Interment in All Saints Cemetery.
