Carmela M. Aprea, 71, of 82 Concord St., Hamden, died April 4, 2011 at Conn Hospice after a long illness. Carmel was born in New Haven, July 16, 1939, the daughter of the late Frank and Jennie Savastano Aprea and worked for 40 years in the film industry of MGM Films, New Haven Film Service and Rosen Film Delivery, retiring in 1966. She is survived by brothers, Vincent Aprea and Frank Aprea, a sister in law Carole Aprea, a niece Sonia Aprea and a nephew Frank James Aprea, great nephews Matthew and Justin Aprea. She was also the dear niece of Anna and Helen Savastano, all of Hamden. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Josephine Aprea. Funeral Thursday at 10:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, l022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 11 o'clock. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday morning from 9 to 10:15.
