Carmel Violente Civitello, 97, of 850 Mix Ave., Hamden, formerly of Clifford St. Hamden, died at the Arden House, April 1, 2016, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Domenic Civitello. Carmel was born in New Haven, July 23, 1918, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Sega Violente and resided in Hamden for most of her life.  She worked at the K&J Dress Shop for many years prior to retiring and enjoyed playing cards. She  is survived by her sons, Frank(Joyce)Civitello of NC and Paul Civitello of Hamden, 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a son, Robert Civitello and a  sister, Nancy Gargiulo. Funeral Thursday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden. Friends may call Wednesday at  the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Hamden, from 5 to 8 P.M.
