Camille Papa Gagliardi, 96, of 75 Washington Ave., Hamden, died suddenly in Milford Hospital, Jan. 10, 2013. She was the widow of Alfred E. Gagliardi Sr. Camille was born in New Haven, August 22, 1916, the daughter of the late Luigi and Angela Palmieri Papa and was a warm, loving person who spent her life trying to help others. She was a senior volunteer at St. Raphael's Hospital for 10 years and worked at Sears, in the auditing dept. She taught in Hamden nursery schools and was active in the Ladies League of Blessed Sacrament Church as well as the Miller Senior Center. Camille is survived by a daughter, Judith (Dr. Louis) Baccei of Hilton Head, SC, a son, Alfred E. (Phyllis) Gagliardi, Jr., of Trumbull, a brother, Anthony Papa of Branford, grandchildren, Gregory Baccei, Dr. Mark (Amy) Baccei, Christopher (Jill) Baccei, Jennifer (Guy) Larose, Kimberly (Jason) Moss and Kristin Gagliardi and 7 great-grandchildren and a special and caring friend, Diana Bogue. She was pre-deceased by siblings, Helen Toscano, Margaret DeLaurentis, Lucy Nesta, Rose Dammling, Donald Papa, Dr. John Papa and George Papa. Funeral Tuesday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament Church, Hamden at 10 o'clock. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.Friends may call Tuesday morning from 8 to 9:l5.
